How to study Economics

Economics needs diagrams, definitions, and numerical sense. Draw the figure first, then write. Confirm whether your paper is micro, macro, or statistics-heavy.

Study method

  • Redraw demand, supply, and cost curves from memory twice a week.
  • Keep formula cards for national income and elasticity.
  • Explain each graph’s axis labels before stating the conclusion.
  • Practise data interpretation with the table in front of you, not from a memorised paragraph.

Common mistakes

  • Unlabelled axes on diagrams.
  • Definitions that miss “ceteris paribus” or other required conditions.
  • Copying current-affairs essays that are not asked in the question.
